Organic and Inorganic Salts for Chemistry Labs

One of the reasons labs in the northeast get their salts from us is the low hazmat fee they pay on each order.

Another reason is that we keep most of their most common salts in stock locally, so freight is affordable and shipping is fast.

It all comes down to getting what you want when you want it at a cost your budget can accommodate.

Local labs also choose SECO because we're honest about product availability and alternatives

It's our job to know about product availability. If the product you prefer to work with is experiencing delays, we find you a suitable alternative.

What type of salt are you looking for?

Simple salts: Are generally classified in one of three subgroups:

  1. Acidic salts: the pH of acidic salts is generally below 7 because of the incomplete neutralization reaction between a strong acid and weak base (ammonium chloride).
  2. Basic salts: the pH is above 7.2. The opposite of acidic salts (sodium acetate).
  3. Neutral salts: the pH of neutral salts is€¦neutral! (calcium phosphate)

Double salts: They're produced through reactions between simple salts (Mohr's salt).

Complex salts: Have charged ions and neutral molecules (tetra amino cupric sulfate).

Mixed salts: Made of two anions that share a cation. Or two cations that share an anion (sodium potassium sulfate).
